I’ve been debating for years whether or not I should put this recipe on the blog. However, I decided everyone needs the best easy vegan pizza dough recipe! The debate was, there are a lot of pizza dough recipes out there and also you can buy pizza dough pretty easily now. I just think there is something so fun about making your very own dough and this one is pretty fool-proof. My daughter and I love making this pizza dough recipe. We divide it into personal pizza sizes and then have fun experimenting with different toppings. There may not be anything better than fresh pizza dough!
What You Need For This Perfect Vegan Pizza Dough:
- All Purpose Flour: Just regular all purpose flour works great for this pizza dough.
- Active Dry Yeast: I don’t recommend instant yeast for this recipe.
- Organic Cane Sugar: Mixed with the yeast and warm water to activate the yeast.
- Olive Oil: Extra virgin if possible.
- Salt: This is a must!
This is absolutely the best easy pizza dough! Only 6 ingredients, one of which is water and the others you probably already have. It is fluffy and tender. Can be rolled thick or thin. This amount of dough makes one nice big pizza. Or you can cut it in two and make two medium pizzas or my fav, 3 or 4 personal pizzas! This shockingly easy dough will make you rethink things if you ever thought making your own pizza dough was hard.

The Best Easy Vegan Pizza Dough
Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup Warm water(about 110 degrees)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons Active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons Organic cane sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 Cups All purpose flour + more as needed.
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, pour in the warm water. Then sprinkle the yeast and then the sugar into the water.
- Let sit for about 5 minutes or until the yeast has bloomed. It will be bubbly and frothy.
- Now add the olive oil and salt and begin to stir together, either with a wooden spoon or with the dough hook attachment for the stand mixer.
- Then start adding the 2 cups of flour a little at a time, continuing to stir or while the dough hook is running.
- Once the flour has all been added, begin to knead or let the dough hook run until the dough comes together and is a smooth ball. This will take a few minutes.
- Once you have formed a ball, make sure it is no longer sticky, adding a tablespoon more or so of flour if the dough is still sticky, continue to knead for another 1 to 2 minutes.
- Remove the dough ball from the bowl, spray the bowl with non-stick spray and then put the dough ball back in the bowl.
- Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm dry place(I like to preheat my oven to 200 degrees(F) and then turn the oven OFF and let the dough rise in the oven), for about 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Once the dough has risen, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and then either roll out one large pizza, cut in two and make 2 medium pizzas or cut into 3 or 4 for small personal pizzas.
- Roll the dough out to any thickness you like your pizza crust.
- Place on a pizza pan, top with your favorite toppings and bake at 450 degrees(F), for 10 to 15 minutes!

Have you experimented with making the dough/crust ahead of time? I’d like to find a way to make it the day before, but I’m not sure if it would work. Perhaps pre-baking the crust?
Thanks for any tips you have! 😀

You can prep the dough, let it rise, then put it in the fridge in plastic wrap or a cover bowl. Then before using, let it rise/come to room temperature on the counter for 30 minutes. Then you can roll it out and use it like normal!
