I am a tofu lover, through and through. If you have been following me for a while, you know all about my passionate love for tofu. I truly believe that if you hate tofu, you just haven’t had it cooked the way you like it. Nothing proves how versatile it is more than this easy vegan cilantro lime tofu. A super easy marinade is whipped together in a few minutes, and then you let the tofu sit for as long as you want. Overnight is great, but even just letting the tofu sit for an hour will give it the most incredible flavor. This is one of the most flavorful tofu dishes I have ever made, so if you feel like you need somewhere to start on your tofu journey, this is a good place to do so.
What You Need For This Amazing Tofu:
- Extra or Super Firm Tofu: If you can find super firm tofu, I love it because it requires no pressing.
- Fresh Oranges and Limes: You will need the zest and juice.
- Olive Oil: I like to use a good quality olive oil for this since you will definitely taste it.
- Cumin, Soy Sauce, and Agave: For a nice balanced flavor.
- Garlic and Cilantro: I highly suggest using fresh garlic and cilantro as well.
- White Rice: For serving.
- Mango Salsa: This is a must add!
This easy vegan cilantro lime tofu can be grilled or baked, but I prefer using my air-fryer grill option, and would recommend that if you have that option. The citrus tang, the sweetness, and the herbaceousness make this simple dish so freaking delicious. I could put this marinade on anything, and it would taste amazing. Served with my favorite mango salsa and some steaming rice, and get ready to be amazed.

Vegan Cilantro Lime Tofu
Ingredients
Instructions
- After you have drained and pressed the tofu, slice it into 3-4 slices. Then make the marinade.
- In a large bowl or measuring cup with a spout so it will pour easily, add the zest of the 3 oranges, and the juice of them(about 3/4 Cup), and the zest of the 3 limes as well as the juice(about 1/3 Cup), the olive oil, agave, soy sauce, garlic, cumin, salt and pepper. Whisk to combine.
- Add the tofu and cilantro to a large plastic ziploc bag, then pour the marinade into the bag**. Marinate the tofu for at least an hour, but the longer the better, even overnight is great!
- When ready to cook the tofu, I like to use my air fryer grill setting, and grill the tofu for 15 minutes, brushing with the extra marinade and flipping halfway through the cooking process.
- Or you can bake the tofu by preheating the oven to 375 degrees(F), placing the tofu on a large sheet pan sprayed with non-stick spray, and baking for 15 minutes, flipping and baking for another 15 minutes, brushing with extra marinade when you flip.
- Serve with steamed white rice and mango salsa.

I am totally making this on Sunday. I have an indoor grill. I love mango salsa.
