
This easy one bowl vegan chocolate cake is moist, rich, and absolutely the best chocolate cake ever! Made literally by just pouring everything into a bowl and whisking together. This makes the perfect two layer cake. You can then frost it with any flavor frosting you want. I recommend checking out my post on how to make the best vegan buttercream. There is a recipe for vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter and strawberry buttercream. Use one or two or all of them, to make the most amazing cake for any occasion!

What You Need To Make THE BEST Vegan Chocolate Cake:
- All Purpose Flour, Organic Cane Sugar: These start the cake.
- Cocoa Powder: Any kind you like will work!
- Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Salt: These are the remaining dry ingredients.
- Non-dairy Milk: I like to use oat milk.
- White Vinegar, Vegetable Oil: These get mixed in after the milk.
- Applesauce: This is my egg replacer of choice for this perfect cake.
- Vanilla, Hot Coffee: These make the cake so rich and moist!

Honestly, you’ll be completely shocked by how incredible this one bowl vegan chocolate cake is. It’s the easiest cake in the world and probably the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had. I was take a few bites of a slice of it, then telling myself I was done. Still, I kept swooping back into the kitchen for more. Then I realized, this cake is actually restaurant worthy! I decided to opt for peanut butter and chocolate frosting this time, but it is amazing with all different frosting flavors.

Easy One Bowl Vegan Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 Cup All purpose flour
- 2 Cups Organic cane sugar
- 3/4 Cup Cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking soda
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Non-dairy milk, unsweetened I used oat milk
- 1 teaspoon White vinegar
- 1/2 Cup Vegetable oil
- 1/2 Cup Applesauce
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 Cup Freshly brewed coffee
- 1 Batch The Best Vegan Buttercream Frosting*(any flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees(F).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Make sure there are no lumps.
- Pour the non-dairy milk, vinegar, oil, applesauce, vanilla and the warm coffee into the bowl. Continue to whisk until fully combined.
- Use a spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl and make sure there are no dry spots of flour left. The mixture will be a bit bubbly and may look a little thin.
- Pour the batter evenly into 2, 9-inch cake pans that are lined with parchment paper. Smooth out the batter.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
- Let the cake layers cool completely and then frost them with whatever flavor frosting you want. Stack them together to create a two layer cake. Serve.
